Road Trip

I like road trips ... what is going happen .. going somewhere different kinda cool ... sorta lame at times ..
Hey Its Andrew Im going to try and post some things for you as well. Hopefully with two of posting it will better than just one of us.
Genesis 12:1-3

1 The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you.
2 "I will make you into a great nation
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.

3 I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you."
So before this in Genesis 11 we have the tower of babel which is where God scattered humans by giving them different languages which is what created the different people groups like the chinese ect... Then this where God calls Abraham to go to a different land which eventually becomes His people the Jews. What a nice time to create a nation when everyone is scattering?  I think what is important to understand is verses 2 and 3. He told Abraham to leave the place he called home in order to make a nation. But not to just to have a big country say like America and be like "yeah thats cool". God created the nation to be a blessing to the whole world. Thats who God is. America is great and it is a blessed country. We have nice beds, takes showers, have a couch, dont worry about food. What are we going to do with this riches that we have, just use it up? God blesses his people and we can be apart of what He does by taking what we have and blessing others. God created us. We can see his goodness in his creation in the sun that warms up on a nice day and the joy we get when we are having fun doing something. Im sorry but there is something bad here also. There is the road that take us away from God and the road that is following God. So be careful. Trust the Father.
