Good and Bad

He replied, "You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?"
In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.

Job 2:10

Many things pop out at me from verses 1 to 10. When it comes to the story of Job, we tend to focus a lot on Job, and that is a good thing. But, I can't help but notice the character of Satan... Let's talk about him for a minute.

This is what I've noticed about him.

1) Satan can enter God's presence
2) Satan literally roams the earth
3) Satan has the power to cause us harm.
4) Satan can only go as far as God will let him.

The United States, as a people and culture, do not recognize Satan and his demons as a threat. This is a problem... We are most likely to get attacked when we don't see it comming... when we don't recognize the warning signs.

Satan is very real. His demons are very real... But he is still under the rule of God. He can only go as far as God will let him. This is just another example of God's amazing power. We've been talking a lot about submission to God lately. Even Satan has to obey. No one can escape Him.

Job was a Godly man who suffered a lot, but through it all he never stopped worshiping God. He cursed the day he was born, but he never cursed God. He fully understood that nothing could escape from God's control. What ever happened to him was because God wanted it to happen, and that gave him peace.

He took the good along with the bad.

This is a very complicated issue. There is so much about it that it can not all fit here. If you have any questions please contact one of us.
