Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
James 1: 2-4
While my father was never in the Military, he raised his three daughters as if he had been. It is one of the reasons why I am the way I am today. If I ever fell and ran to him crying, he'd ask, "Are you Bleeding? Is something Broken? If not get back out there and play." In short he told me to "suck it up, pick yourself up, and keep on going."
While I hated him for it at the time, I now love him for it. If he didn't treat me that way, I wouldn't have the drive and passion I have now.
In the same way, God is telling us to "suck it up". Whenever life pushes against you push back. It's all a part of becoming that man or that woman that God wants us to be.
