I love writting. I have been writting stories and letters for the last five years for the purpose of telling others about God. But a year ago I stopped doing that for a couple months. The reason why is because I started to really like the compliments I would get. Very soon it was not about writting for the purpose of bringing people to God, but for people to know how great I was. I enjoyed the attention and praise. Because of that a beatiful gift became ugly, and the letters I wrote were not as good as they were before. God gave me a gift so that He would be gloryfied, not me. I stopped writting in order to get my mind back on God.
You see... God has to be our first love, because He is the only one worthy of that. Since refocusing my attention I am able to write again as I once did.
I am asking you to look at your own life. What are your gifts? Are you a good speaker? An amazing artist? A writter? A great listener, friend, and counselor? and if so... how are you using your gifts and what for?
